We only use your details to send you what you signed up for. We never sell them, and we never share them with anyone else.

Who we are

Address: 20 Brook Road, Twickenham TW1 1JE

What this covers

This policy covers the Leapers website, our newsletter, and emails about things you sign up for, including the weekly Freelancers Assemble calls.

Our research surveys are separate. They don’t collect your email, and they have their own notices: the 2026 survey privacy statement and how we use survey data.

What we collect

When you add your email, we collect:

Kit, our email provider, also records whether an email is delivered, opened or clicked. We use that to see what is useful, and to stop sending mail that bounces.

That is all we ask for in order to email you.

The website

We use Plausible to see which pages are visited. Plausible does not use cookies and does not identify you. It gives us combined figures, such as how many people opened a page.

Some pages load typefaces from Google. When they do, your browser sends your IP address to Google so the typeface can load.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not build a profile of you from your visits. Kit’s signup form may set a cookie, or use a small image in an email, so it can tell that a form was submitted or an email was opened. You can block that in your browser or email app.

Why we use your email

We use it to send the emails you asked for: a weekly call invite, the newsletter, or an occasional note about the work we do as a project.

The lawful basis is your consent, under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You give that consent by submitting your email address. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent at any time by using that link, or by emailing us.

We do not use your details for anything else.

We never share your data

We never sell your details. We never pass them to partners, sponsors, or anyone else to use for their own marketing or research.

The only organisation that handles your email for us is Kit. They process it on our instructions, so we can send you those emails. They are not allowed to use your address for their own marketing.

Where your email is stored

We use Kit (Kit, Inc.), based in the United States. Your email address and the list data that goes with it are stored on Kit’s servers, which may be in the United States.

Kit is our processor. That arrangement is set out in Kit’s Data Processing Addendum. When personal data moves from the UK to Kit, the transfer is covered by the standard contractual clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum in that agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep your email for as long as you stay subscribed.

When you unsubscribe, we remove you from the list. Kit keeps a short record that you unsubscribed, so we do not add you back by mistake. Email us if you want that record deleted too.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us to:

Email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. Please contact us first, so we can try to put it right.

Age

Our emails are written for adults. Please do not sign up if you are under 18.

Changes

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
