Self-Employment and Mental Health - Research Study 2020

We're investigating into the relationship between self-employment and mental health - and need your insights. Our annual research study will open for participation on September 7th.

Take the survey.

About the survey

Each year - we ask the self-employed about their work, their mental health, and the relationship between the two - to create a robust picture of what challenges the self-employed face, and it's impact upon our wellbeing. The data goes to not only inform our work to create better support for our members, but also helps the industry at large identify where we can do better, and work well with freelancers, the self-employed, and small business owners.

Last year's study revealed a number of fascinating insights, which helped us to create support for over 35,000 people during the height of the pandemic. Over 500 people took part, and helped us understand a more realistic picture of self-employment. This year's study will be larger, and will undoubtedly show the impact of major changes in the self-employment landscape in the last 12 months, such as Brexit, IR35 and naturally COVID-19.

Your individual data will never be shared, and we'll publish the aggregated anonymised data in a public report later this year, once we have analysed your responses.

Help us understand your experiences - it'll take no more than ten minutes to help, or share the survey with others in your network, so we can reach and support as many people as possible.
